Titled “Vivement demain !”, the 2023 edition of the Bex & Arts Triennale examines the relationship between humans and their environment. The project takes place in the Szilassy park.
Like a game of Snakes & Ladders on the scale of the site, the project invites the public to leave the marked paths and create their own route. Five light interventions, shortcuts or detours along the official route, question our relationship to the landscape, to what already exists, and to the notions of private and public space.
Enter.
A handrail holds the park’s entrance gate open.
Step over.
A jetty over the rockery turns a dead end into a place of passage.
Join.
A staircase connects two neighbouring paths that had remained disconnected.
Reach.
A step cut into the retaining wall creates a secret entrance for the neighbourhood.
Slip through.
An opening in the hedge opens a way to an artwork below.
